Scholarship Application for High Schoolers

Clothes Less Traveled has awarded college scholarships annually since 1997. If you are a high school senior who has volunteered at least 40 hours at CLT, you are eligible to apply for a scholarship!

CLT awards college scholarships each spring. Members of the graduating class of 2024 are invited to submit applications now!

THE DEADLINE FOR 2024 APPLICATIONS IS FEBRUARY 28TH.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Applicants must be graduating high school seniors from any accredited public school, private school, or homeschool.

  • Applicants must be residents of CLT’s service area of Fayette and Coweta Counties OR currently attend school in CLT’s service area of Fayette and Coweta Counties.

  • Applicants must have volunteered a minimum of 40 documented hours of voluntary service at CLT any time over the course of their four years of high school. Extra credit will be given by the scholarship committee for additional hours volunteered.

  • Scholarships can only be used at U.S. institutions and must be used in the school year immediately following graduation.

ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS

In addition to filling out the online form completely, applicants must submit the following documents:

  • The student’s transcript: either a sealed physical copy or a digital copy emailed directly from the school system to scholarships@clotheslesstraveled.org. A printed, unsealed copy will not be considered.

  • One letter of academic recommendation from a teacher or other school faculty member.

  • One letter of personal recommendation from an adult who is not related to the student and knows the student through extracurricular activities or non-CLT volunteer service.

Your application is not complete and will not be considered until we have received all supporting documents by the deadline.

Scholarships awarded by CLT’s Board of Directors are merit-based and will be determined by the applicant’s academic achievement, as well as by extracurricular and community involvement and by the applicant's demonstrated commitment to voluntary service.

Note: Completing volunteer hours at CLT does not guarantee applicants a scholarship award.

Any questions regarding the scholarship should be emailed to the Scholarships Chair.
