About the Clothes Less Traveled
The Clothes Less Traveled Thrift Shop, Inc. is a 501(c)3 corporation and is managed by a nine member volunteer Board of Directors. Your donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
History
Established in 1997, the Thrift Shop began in a single store front on
Huddleston Road. MaryAnn Cox, the founder, needed a place to donate or sell the
items that were being dropped off at her office at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
People were bringing gently used clothing and household items to the Church in the hope that MaryAnn would be able to find someone who could use them. The collections became so large that the only solution was to establish a 'thrift shop'. The first thrift shop in Peachtree City, named by Janet McGregor Dunn "The Clothes Less Traveled", opened its door filled with worthy donations and volunteers.
The Thrift Shop expanded three times in the Huddleston location. After 9
years the space and parking just became inadequate. The move to our current
Highway 74 location in 2006 allowed us to double our space.
In 2010 we celebrated 13 years of success and again doubled our space to the current size of 10,000 sq. ft. A volunteer Board of Directors (below), along with very dedicated shop volunteers, has generated a non-denominational faith-based initiative that touches the lives of many in our community.
